Scorch Printing Problems and Solutions
To print, don't click Print at the top of your browser window, or Print in the File menu, or type Command-P or Ctrl+P - these will print the web page, not the score. Instead, find the score again and click the Print button on the Scorch toolbar (immediately above the music). No paper came out of the printer Check your printer is switched on, contains paper and is plugged into your computer. If it is, it is probably not set up correctly. Please consult your computer's or printer's manual, or see If there is still a problem below. Ran out of paper With most printers, don't turn off the printer - just feed in some more paper and it should continue printing. The music doesn't fit on the paper or is cropped off Find the score again, click Scorch's Print button, then on the Print dialog box switch on the Fit to Paper option. (On Mac this is in the Sibelius area of the dialog box.) Then print. Staff lines and note stems missing, uneven or have rounded ends Find the score again, click Scorch's Print button, then on the Print dialog box change the Substitute Lines option. (On Mac this is in the Sibelius area of the dialog box.) Then print. Arpeggios (vertical wavy lines) or glissandos (diagonal wavy lines) mispositioned Find the score again, click Scorch's Print button, then on the Print dialog box change the Substitute Arpeggios, gliss., etc. option. (On Mac this is in the Sibelius area of the dialog box.) Then print. Keyboard braces missing or wrong size Find the score again, click Scorch's Print button, then on the Print dialog box change the Substitute Braces option if there is one. (On Mac this is in the Sibelius area of the dialog box.) Then print. The printer quit printing in the middle of my music Find the score again, click Scorch's Print button, then on the Print dialog box switch on the Substitute Lines option. (On Mac this is in the Sibelius area of the dialog box.) Then print. Tried to print several copies but it didn't work When buying a score you can't print more copies than you have paid for. Contact Us to be allowed for more prints. Notes print as text characters, boxes or other fonts Try changing your printer's font settings. For instance, in Windows try printing again but click Properties in the Print dialog box, then try changing options which affect font printing, such as Print fonts as graphics or Print TrueType as graphics (usually on the Font tab of the Properties dialog box). I received an IllegalOperatorSequence Error The IllegalOperatorSequence error you are receiving is coming from your printer. You may wish to check if you have the latest driver for your printer. You should be able to download the latest driver from the printer manufacturer's web site: Canon printers Epson printers HP printers Others: use your web browser to search for the manufacturer. After downloading the driver, save it somewhere easy to find, such as on your desktop. Then set up your printer again from scratch and print your music. It says Printing To File Not Allowed Due to copyright law, with Scorch customers cannot store image files of the scores on their computers. Therefore, when using Scorch, you are only allowed to print to paper. If there is still a problem In certain circumstances, Scorch does not reinstall correctly and you will need to try installing it again. If you already have a copy of Scorch installed, use Add/Remove Programs on the Control Panel (Windows users) to uninstall the earlier copy of Scorch prior to downloading the plug-in in order to avoid any difficulties with the installation process. After reinstalling Scorch, please try printing again. If none of the above has provided a solution, please Contact Us, we will be delighted to assist you personally. Thank you! |
