Hey, guys!
I have already mentioned in the "titanium strings" thread that I have an empathy towards violists and cellists. I also know many jokes that "advertise" the violinists . But far from the jokes, we all know that we NEED each other. What would an orchestra be without violas? What would a string quartet play without a cello ? We have to co-operate. Everybody can say anything he wants, but this won't decrease the indispensibility of any instrument.
I know this is an own goal, but by the way, I 've heard that Bach was playing viola. He loved it and he thought that viola has a key-position in the orchestra. I don't know if it was real viola or anything like viola da gamba or viola d' amore etc. The point is anyway that such a great composer loved viola!
