Okay, here...I'll shoot. I'm gonna post a classical one in a minute...but first I wanna do a contemporary composer...just to see if people are up to date (or are really good researchers. lol)

I was born in 1958, in Monroe, Louisiana and joined the faculty of the University of Southern California's Thornton School of Music in 1991, where I'm currently Professor of Composition. From 1991 to 1998 I also became Composer in Residence of the Pacific Symphony Orchestra. I'm best known for my concert band works, most of which have become repertoire standards.
