I prefer up-to-date softwares; once you've learnt how to use them, they are much faster.

Writing on paper is much simpler and it will never betray you.

I don't have a particular preference; If I'm insipired, I could write on the sand.

Well, after all, I can sing Alto and Soprano just as well, although I'm much more on the Soprano side. The high notes are much easier to sing, I don't know why...they just feel much more natural to me, because I get to use my diaphragm correctly, and I just guess a have a powerful high voice. Do you feel more compfortable on the high part as well?

Yeah, I know what you mean...except I usually come up with ideas on a piano/paper before I put it into an ensemble...do you have Perfect Pitch?? Sounds like it...LUCKY YOU if you do. Hmph...I can hear pitches, but only to an extent. *wishes desperately for perfect pitch* That would be so awesome, just randomly up and being able to announce what any random note you hear out of nowhere is... *sighs*

Well, I write on paper and software. I find it easier to write on paper first then transfer it to Finale

Naw, but I can here where I'm placing the notes in whatever key my head is in, so I know the intervals of whats going on in my head.

I use Finale for everything thought I don't really do any composing.
I do some arranging and a lot of Transcribing, Transposing and other manipulation of parts.

Too late to vote in the poll, but...
If I'm arranging, I go right to Finale.
If I'm composing for a solo, duet, or trio - on paper.
If I'm composing for a larger ensemble - depends on the group. All strings - paper...vocal - paper...band - Finale.
