Default Muramatsu Flutes

I'm planning to buy a Muramatsu DS next month. However, I'm not sure what to expect. I see a lot of them being discounted, but apparently they are not imported thru Muramatsu USA. And Muramatsu USA suggest staying away from flutes that aren't stamped with MA. Why should this matter to me?

Also, If I buy from their authorized distributors, like JB Weissman, can I expect any discount? Or would I be expected to pay full retail?

Jon

Koichi Muramatsu created his first flute in 1923. Since the original creation, thousands of artists across the world have chosen the Muramatsu brand above any other brand.

Default Because :)

The DS model is the highest quality sterling silver flute with drawn tone holes made by Muramatsu. It has quick response and the ability to produce beautiful legato and sharp staccato. These qualities are made possible by the drawn tone holes fabricated with our extremely high precision technology. The lip plate makes playing easy and allows the flute to respond to a wide range of subtle variations in tone color. The mechanism is constructed by our skilled craftsmen with techniques developed over a long period of time.
