Question Violin's Vibrato

[FONT=Times New Roman]Hi, I am new here and new in violin playing, and would like suggestions on how to best play vibrato, because it seems that there is no communication between left and right hands when it comes to that.
thanks in advance
Arik

Hi Arik.

I suggest you to start studying vibrato with just your left hand, don't play a note with the bow. Start by moving your left hand fingers slowly on the fingerboard (very slow vibrato). Keep playing a very slow vibrato and increase its frequency speed step by step. That's very important. Once you are comfortable, try to start over again, very slowly, by using the bow (I suggest to start on the G string).

Let me know how that works.
