Hi all,

I've been playing viola professionally with bands for some time now and just can't seem to find a pickup that works well. Most are made for violins (even when they claim to be "viola") and the sound comes out very pinched and toppy.

I'd love to hear your suggestions for a pickup system that would stay true to my viola's acoustic sound.

(I'm willing to try the various mic options, however, as I play in a lot of loud venues I'm not sure the feedback issues would be worth it...?)

This is from a long time ago, but the pickup called "The Band" by Headway is amazing. They have a viola version. It just velcros around the instrument, and keeps a very natural tone.
