Over the last 6 months I've become completely obsessed with Bach.
The trouble is, what's next? I don't really enjoy classical composition or playing. I mean I'm really bored by 19th century music. With Bach, I really love period/baroque style and specialists.
Anyway, What do you recommend after Bach? Vivaldi? Scarlatti? I know it's subjective but I'd love to hear from people who are obsessed with Bach what else they really enjoy?
I'm sure everyone has already posted their favorites but I'd also love to know people's favorite recordings.
I love Podger, Hantai, Fuller and Fisk, Pinnock, the schoenbrunn emsemble, Musica Antiqua Koln, etc.
One more thing: Has anyone heard the Kempff Goldberg? Am I crazy or is this quite nice?

The answer will depend largely on what instrument/combination of instruments you're looking for...

Vivaldi wrote oodles of concerti (covering just about every instrument of the time)...
Scarlatti (Alessandro) composed over 100 operas/oratorios, and plenty of other types of music, too...
Scarlatti (Domenico) is known mainly for keyboard music...
Corelli (mostly strings)...
Handel (some of almost everything)
Pergolesi...
Buxtehude (organ)
Purcell (oratorio - using the term loosely...more like melodrama, actually)

Thanks Kurt1. I've been enjoying Vivaldi and Corelli recently. I especially love D Scarlatti. Particularly as played by Scott Ross. However, nothing quite equals the emotional breadth of Bach does it? Bach is like a deep well.
I especially love Rosalyn Tureck on piano.
But for other instruments I prefer the Baroque specialists: Pinnock, Podger, Wallfisch, Leonhardt, Hantai, OAE, etc.

Two recordings I want to mention:

I recently acquired E. Power Biggs trio sonatas played on the pedal harpsichord. This recording is amazing.
Also, Bradley Brookshire's recording of the French Suites. Incredible music.
