Trill
Does anyone really know the best way to trill high g to high a flat, my music teacher is a clarinetist/trumpeter...barely knows a thing about the flute...he can barely play hot cross buns half the time...any way so my friend thinks that you just use the a flat key but i've been thinking there has to be a better way to trill...if anyone knows i would love to find out...

If it's the G 4 ledger lines above the staff, you finger High G like normal, and trill with your left index finger:
(x)xx ooo
o
Okay, the X's are keys you have pressed down, and the o's are fingers off the keys. The parentheses mean the key you're trilling. I figured I'd put the picture as a reference in case it may not have made sense.
You CAN press the Ab key; however, you have to overblow the lower octave this way, and it usually sounds pretty nasty. I wouldn't do it this way.
If you need any other trill fingerings, I'm like the trill queen, so let me know, and I'll help you out. Hope I helped!

Wait, WHICH high F? lol, jk. I'm sure you wouldn't be talking about an octave up from 3 1/2 ledger lines. But finger Eb like you normally would and trill your left middle finger. Like so:
x(x)x P xxx P
T
Um, yeah, I changed up my diagram some to add the pinkeys.
P=pinky
T=thumb
The rest is the same.
Hope I helped! Good luck!
