String Quartet Movement for Dr. Louis Swift by Edward Giles Brown
Hello, this is my first time posting here. I'm a composer and writer, and I've recently posted a recording of a string quartet piece on YouTube. The piece was recorded in 1999.

About the piece:
In 1999 I was asked to write a string piece in honor of Dr. Louis Swift, who was retiring as the Dean of Undergraduate Studies at the University of Kentucky. This is a live recording of the piece being performed at Dr. Swift's retirement ceremony by the Cypress String Quartet on April 5th, 1999.
I'm particularly proud of the fugue. I'm also quite happy because Dr. Swift very much enjoyed the piece and told me it was the best gift that anyone had ever given him.
Please give it a listen and let me know what you think. You can contact me on this forum or via my blog site which is linked on the YouTube Channel. Or in the Comments Section of the Video.
Thanks for listening!
