Scoliosis and flute...

Hey,

I have had scoliosis since last year and I have a boston TLSO back brace. I take my brace off when i practice exept for at school since i have band 3rd period. I was wondering if anyone else has a prblm playing in a brace because if i have it on it gets hard to play and my lungs just give out after just a half sheet of music and without my brace I can go at least 2 pages. I have to wear the brace 22-23 hours a day. So if anyone has the same prblm or a solution please write back.

Some one please please please write I'm going to the doctors tommarow and I need to know!!!

I'm really not sure...I don't really know anyone who's ever had this problem. I'm really sorry I can't help you. I really wish I could...but I don't know how to help you. Try getting a breathing bag from a hospital and using it to expand your lungs. If you can build up your lungs it'll probably help you. Other than that, all I can say is to practice consistantly, and you'll eventually build up your resistance to tiredness. I wish I could help more...

lol, you can always call and place an order. That's what my personal instructor does for her students. We're all required to use a breathing bag to open us up before we warm up.

Ohh sry i was confused i was thinking of a different thing. I cant use a breathing bag because my scoli pushes my rib which turns my lungs, so a breathing bag actually gets things worst. I have tryed it and it just feels like my lungs shrink!!!
