Default Orchestrations

Does anyone on this site have a music notation device with enough staves to help me orchestrate some music to the musical I'm writing? I only have Finale Notepad and it's gonna be a REALLY long time before I can get a really good notation device. Can someone help me orchestrate if I send them the music and an explanation of what part goes to what instrument, and what is supposed to be featured and what-not? I'd really appreciate the help. Thanks!!

Hi Loren.

We at Virtual Sheet Music use Sibelius software, it works good and it has an automatic arrange feature that can be useful... but you have always to put your hands on it to have good results!

Good luck.

Sincerely,

Yeah. I have a demo of Sibelius 3, but it doesn't let me save anything. And it's extremely expensive, or I'd go ahead and get the full blown version.

Wow, they have Sibelius 4 now?! *downloads new version*

Yes, I know, it is expensive... actually it is a professional software, and I think is the best one on the market.

Best,

Yeah. I've wanted it really bad for the past (Well, before now, Sibelius 3) couple years, but I don't have the money to get it. It would do a lot of good to have it, since the demo doesn't let me save anything.

I'm still interested in people to orchestrate my music for me, if anyone out there is willing to do it!!! (Of course your name will be put on it if it makes it anywhere!!)

I honestly don't have the time for full orchestrations right now(I'm working on two concertos - one is an arrangement). If you wanted it, though, I'd gladly write a fancy string solo!

lol, not with THIS many different parts...it'd have to be one REALLY talented string player. Even the piano part has like 4 different parts going on at once right now. lol.

Printmusic will allow 24 staves... but its 70 some odd dollars, but thats the program that I have, and its fine, just doesn't play all of the ornamentation, but you can hear that yourself, because you should be able to imagine it...

Yeah, I've thought about getting it, but if I'm gonna get any program, it's either gonna be the full Finale or Sibelius. It'd be a waste to get one program, then turn around and get a $600 one right after that.
