counting
I'm moving to Germany here in about a week, so i emailed the school i'll be going to there to get some audition music. i'm having some trouble writing in the counts. could someone either help me, or let me know somewhere that i can go online to find how to write the counts in?

like, if there were four quarter notes in a measture, i would write under them, 1,2,3,4. if there were 8 8th notes, it would be, 1 & 2 & 3 & 4 &.

Well, I don't know any book teaching that particular issue, there are many books of music theory that could help you. Maybe you can try on amazon.com looking for "music theory" or "music basics" or "music rhythm".
Another advice I can give you is to find a music teacher to understand and study with those music basics.
