looking for an instrument
hello all, i was wondering if anyone knew where i could find a viola d'amore. ive been playing violin for a while now, and i heard a recording of one and fell in love. if anyone knows where i might be able to find one that's not too expensive that would be amazing. much thanks!

Well, Violas d' Amore are very difficult to find and usually they are custom made. You should find a lute-maker who's able to build one for you. I would suggest you to find lute-maker on Google.

thank you for the advice! i will deffinently look into that, but im not sure if i can afford a custom instrument... ah well, its something i can save up for. sorry if i put the post in the wrong place

viola d'amore
Hi, all.
I have no idea of its quality, and there is a risk in online buying of course, but there is a viola d'amore being sold on eBay (I was looking for a cheap and cheerful viola this morning).
Also, you might try one of the "early music" shops, as some of them carry such things. A quick web search will bring up several. Approximately fifteen years ago, I bought my harp sight unseen by telephone from a place in Boulder, Colorado, and lucked out: it's a beautiful instrument with a great sound.

I don't even know what is Violas d' Amore looks like! i just saw it in google. try searching it in buy and sell sites.
