Man, there are so many... I think my favorite Sousa's are Liberty Bell, Glory of the Yannkee Navy, and, of course, Stars and Stripes forever.

Now I'm not against "Stars and Stripes Forever" but have you ever played that, oh it hurts... of course that was 3 years ago, it was with a band of less than 10 members, and I was still re-learning everything correctly, that my first teacher (who is a trumpet player) neglected to tell any of the trumpets, in my first band... I don't like him very much.

OMG, I love Stars and Stripes Forever!!! It has the AWESOMEST piccolo solo! (But not NEARLY as good as Second Suite in F that my band read a couple times this year...now THAT was an awesome piccolo solo, though not as great as the one in Lauds...*sighs* good memories*) But that is the best march I have EVER heard!!!

lol. Lucky you've played the whole thing. I've only played this rendition of it in a Christmas march, and it was covered up by Jingle Bells. (The piece was called An American Christmas) I DID have the solo, till my BD let the entire flute section play it. *sniffs*

Yeah with one other Trumpet, one Alto Saxophone, 2 flutes?, 3 clairnets, and 2 percussion?None of us really advanced enought to play it, except for the Alto Sax, at least at the time... they're lucky that I broke my right hand the year before, and my right middle finger the year after. I ended up with surgery on the middle finger, and I played for a week before our last two performances of the year (besides graduation).

How in the world did you manage to break your middle finger?
