Fingerings

I have lately been facing a great difficulty while studying Bruch, Beethoven and Mendelssohn violin concertos due to the lack of fingerings . I tried to put some myself but in a piece as long as a concerto, fingerings are a complete chaos. Is there any possibility of re-editing these concertos with fingerings? (There are also many other pieces with the same problem in the catalog)

To prevent making a huge mess when writing fingerings, only write in shifts or extensions. If you need to write fingers for every note, chances are you need to study the geography of the fingerboard. To do that, just make sure you know what note you're playing when you put down a finger (best thing to do is say the note out loud after you play it). Also, try to stay in the same or close positions for as long as possible (your arm can get tired and it makes a mess on paper).

I'm not sure how advanced you are, so I just gave you what I'd tell a beginner.

Yes, we plan to republish old published compositions as well concertos without fingerings by adding fingerings and more indications.

What one you'd like to start from? Any your preference is very welcome.

Yes, Fabrizio, I was actually thinking about the concertos I 've already mentioned (Bruch, Beethoven, Mendelssohn). They are a complete mess without fingerings.

Thanks for the advice Robert! Well, I can say I am advanced enough to think fingerings on my own . I believe that everyone should put his fingerings on a piece according to what suits his hands, but talking about these concertos where you sometimes have to change position every half a meter, it is useful to have a pattern and then make your own changes. Hope you understand my problem

There is a ques. I would like to ask Mr. Ferrari or whoever else would be able to answer it. How would you finger measures #84-89 in the trans. "For unto us a Child is Born" for flute, violin and cello. Would you use a 1+3 finger pattern or 1+3 2+4 all the way through the thirds in those passages. I've tried both ways and the 1+3 is not as clear as the 1+3 2+4, but the 1+3 2+4 is harder to keep in tune. Any suggestions would be very helpful.
