What did Bach invent in theory?
What did Bach invent in music theory?
Was Bach the man to invent Secondary Dominant chords?

Hello Walters and thank you for your post.
Well, Bach defined the basis of the tonality, that's the most important invention he did. To demonstrate the existence of it, it wrote the famous Well Tempered Klavier which includes 48 Preludes and Fugues written in all the possible keys.
About your mentioned "Secondary Dominant chords" that could be possible since they define particularly well the concept of tonality.
Let me know if you need further information.
Thank you for your interest.
Sincerely,

Bach's "Inventions", of course!!
for music instruction for his sons and as beginner's pieces (namely the two-parts) to learn Bach's music and basic fugue/counterpoint theory, I would imagine

You are lucky to have started with an open holed flute.
