Biggest functioning pipe organ
Does someone know where the biggest ( in the sense with more pipes) functioning pipe organ is? I heard that it is in Australia, but lately, they told me it is at Stanford University in the Sates. The Vatican obviously states that they have the biggest one, but I have my doubts about it.
I'd appreciate very much a reply
Sincerely,

Nevermind, I just checked "The Mormon Tabernacle Organs" is in Salt Lake City, Utah. Nothing against Utah, but I have my doubts that this chapel organ is the biggest in the world. Though maybe it is...check the web site: here

Haha, I found the biggest... its' in Atlantic city! It has 33 000 pipes the biggest one is 64 ft long and sounds 16 Hz (you can't hear it but you feel a tremble inside of you) and the shortest is a quart of an inch with 14 000 Hz!!! It has 1000 horsepower...7 manuals, 449 ranks...337 registers and 852 total stops!!! What an instrument...

Hi!
The worlds largest pipe organ is without question the
Atlantic City Convention Hall Organ which has 7 manuals.
449 Ranks, and 33,112 pipes.
A great article on the big ones was done on the program
Pipe Dreams on NPR.

'tis a good read.

I think it's every keyboard player's dream to play such an organ. A one life experience.
