There is big difference between being able to do a constructive review with suggestions for improvement than just saying you stink and might as well burn your instrument and save the world.

Also, you would have no idea as to the qualification of the reviewer.

I've been thinking about this some, and I think your points are definitely valid. The issue of qualifications of the reviewer would especially be problematic. Unless VSM actually set up a group of people that were qualified to review (and listed their qualifications), etc, you would definitely have trouble knowing what technical feedback was valid. However, that seems like a lot of logistical work for a free message board.

Without that sort of infrastructure, you're basically just sharing files for fun with other people on this board (nothing wrong with that, but it's not really a 'review' per se)

Welcome to the VSM board, btw, and I hope that you stick around.

er...his sig says he's been playing bass for 44 years! I was guessing '16ga' meant that he was an expert with a 16 gauge shotgun (kind of a rare gauge these days, so maybe that's a longshot)

It's okay, I'm sure my 16 gauge shotgun guess is completely wrong, too !

Hi,
I think this is an interesting idea, already thought of. We could provide mp3 files for download compositions dedicated to the pages of our catalog. Think more.
