Fiocco
Does anyone have information on Fiocco? I absolutely love the Allegro that's posted here at VSM (one of the pieces I transcribed for mandolin). I've searched the Internet, but can't find too much about him. Did he compose many pieces?

Hi Geoneil!
Fiocco's Allegro is undoubtedly a very good piece. I found a short biography on the net ( www.karadar.com/Worterbuch/fiocco.html) but unfortunately it was written in deutch . However I found some pieces he has composed apart from the allegro. Missa Solemnis, Ave Maria, Homo Quidam, Andante and Allegro for organ. If I find anything more, I 'll tell you. By the way, have you played Vivaldi's mandolin concerto in C? It is a wonderful piece

Thanks for all the great info and leads, guys! That one site especially has at least some info on just about every composer. It's quite a shame that the music from the lesser known (but just as high quality) composers are so hard to find. That's yet another good thing about VSM: gives equal share to all works!

You are very welcome geoneil.
Actually we'd like to create a biographical section on Virtual Sheet Music, with the right information that deserves any composer (not only the major ones). What do you think about?
Thank you for your thoughts.
Sincerely,

Yeah, Fabrizio, I totally agree with Piccologurl. It is an awesome idea!
I think most of us could help sending information on composers. It will be great. And ,you know, it can work as a perfect advertisement for vsm.
Perfect!

Our original idea was to prepare just a biographical section with very well done biographies written by professional musicologists, but your thoughts to put your contributions is better. So I would suggest both for any specific composer:
1. A main biography section written by professional musicologists.
2. Users contributions section on specific topics (such as specific compositions, instrumental issues, etc.) written by users.
How does this sound?
Sincerely,

I that's a really cool idea. It's fun to know a bit about the composers of the music your playing.
