Default Double stops becoming difficult in higher positions

My orchestration book says that double stops become more difficult with each higher position.

Is this true, and if so, why?

Thanks.

That's absolutely true because higher you go with your fingers, smaller becomes the distance between fingers and becomes more difficult to play with the right pitch double stops. That's why.

Good luck!
