I actually did do better this morning than I did tonight. Our pianist showed up like 5 minutes before church, too late for me to ask her to replace me. So our music director already had some songs picked out but I didn't know any of them so i really messed up the first one then gave up after that. Thanks to my monthly visitor i cried a lot about it and made a total fool of myself! Oh well, that's done and over with now, I just gotta move on and keep trying.

In reply to hearing our own mistakes more than anybody else: musicians are too hard on themselves most of the time.

Yep BMW I absolutely agree with you. I've noticed this quite a couple times. Why do you think it happens? Why are musicians so hard on theirselves (even and esp. out of musical world)

Because if a musician is striving to be the best they can be, they don't want to mess up. Musicians tend to be the only people to hear their mistakes, but it seems as if everyone esle if BOUND to hear them. I guess all the best musicians are perfectionists!

I just wish I was a person that made no errors, like all the rest of you!

You're kidding, right? I've been playing violin for like 10 months. I make tons of errors!
