I really love alternative and by the start of the 1990s, the music industry was enticed by alternative rock's commercial possibilities and major labels actively courted bands including Jane's Addiction, Dinosaur Jr, Firehose, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nirvana, The Smashing Pumpkins and Hole. And such 90s music simply rock. I really love it

Any rock music is "alternative" to standard hard rock can be considered as an alternative to the general public. When a band ceases to be an alternative? NEVER! If the public discovers a band and make them popular, their music has not changed, only the listeners! Here is a simple guide for all types of music, creating what we understand today as an alternative.

Alternative rock is alternative only to "pop" music, so it will change as popular culture. Any rock music that is "alternative" to standard hard rock can be considered to be alternative to the mainstream. Alternative Rock broadly refers to the numerous styles that have roots in the independent music scenes of the USA.
