Haha very funny, Yoda!
That's awesome, glorfindel! Us too, well, except for the guitar. And to be honest with you, I don't think CCM is really fit for anybody, inside or outside the church.

How much have you listened to? And even though a lot of it isn't that good in my opinion, the Bible doesn't really say enough about music for me to be too judgmental about it. Everyone's free to have their own opinion though, as long as it's within Biblical guidelines.

Now for a lengthy reply.
Everyone is seeing the downfall of churches today. Why is this happening?
Experts (not like me) give several epinions. First, (to try to change the subject ) the say: Last days, Laodicean times can't help it. Secondly(Experts like me ),say, there must be somthing that happened in the past 40+ yrs. that radically changed churches, and they are correct! One of the main issues is the Venom of Humanism pervading our nation! Example: I see "God Bless America" on beer store billboards. People just don't have the fear of God anymore!!! We all know pretty well what happened to Judge Moore recently. Now, bach to the subject, we'd think the church would realize this and preach against it. WRONG!!! Instead of resisting the World, they are playing the worlds game!!!! One reason I think this is happening is because churches let down their standards regarding music, dress, holiness, and a bunch of other issues. Example: Church member (I won't say which denomination) is frantically trying to find a Brittney Spears Halloween costume in time for her daughter to wear on Oct. 31. It used to be that you could easily tell male from female. (Used to be) Today, we see M,F,and "it". Don't just think this is happening in the world only.(Short hair on F, pants on the same, F pastors!!! Etc.)
Music Example: We all know who the "King of Rock 'n Roll" was. Just because he sings a few hymns at the end of each concert makes his music embraced by churches?!?!?!?!?! Come on, anybody could tell that's not right, the guy died from drug overdose and we all know where! I won't even get into holiness, I think you all know.
I could go on and on. Maybe later.

YKB,
What happened to the topic?
That had to be the most unconvincing argument against CCM I've ever heard.
I expected better.
Now, Let's back up and try again. (Focus on the music)
Sincerely,
Grandpa

I don't know Y, but after that weak attempt I may just have turn to the Contemporary side.
I just can't figure out why our church is the way it is.
It's like they strive for mediocrity.
In the mid 1980s we had the best music that I've ever experienced.
Then it was like somebody decided that it was too good and pulled the plug.
Perhaps there were those who became too pridefull.
I didn't see it but it is a posibility.
My older brother was integral to the music program at that time.
He eventually left because he couldn't tolerate the new music at all.
I can't say that I blame him.
I stick around hoping that someday a music director will come along and get the ball rolling again.
I think I'll practice my viola for a while......

I think I'll practice my viola for a while too. It might help me come up with more convincing arguments....

All right!!! That was better.
I just love my viola.
Hey, Y.
Have you tried "The Swan"
I believe that VSM has it for viola.
It's easy to play it takes some focus to really sound good.

You're changing topic, I haven't really played it for viola. It's hard to find a piano player that would want to learn the piano part. I've tried it on trumpet too, which is harder.
