It is time consuming also.
My wife has weekly Tuesday meetings so I get the house to myself to practice.

Rarely.
The thing about practicing is that I'm trying something new that I'm not good at and I'm trying to make it better. It can sound pretty bad at first.
Another thing about practice is doing excercises, scales or studies that might not sound too good because they become maddening to the listener.
