Question about flute lesson materials
I was wondering if anyone would suggest a lesson book series for flute. The student is about an intermediate level, and needs more. She doesn't have a lesson series. Someone suggested the Rubank method but we'd like to look at a few.
Also if anyone knows of any recital books for flute or etudes, please let me know. Thanks a lot.

Somebody please give me some suggestions. Are there any teachers on the site who could tell me what method series they use to teach from? Any students who could? Any players who have been playing for 15+ years that know a good bit of music?

Hey! Sorry I didn't reply sooner...Flootalicious' reply has some really good books...but I have a couple more. I'm currently working in the Reichert 7 Daily Excercises...it looks hard, but it's meant to build sound, and be played VERY slowly. Also, the Progressive and Molodious Etudes (books 1 and 2) are really good...but not meant to be played by someone who hasn't gone through Rubank first. Emil Eck's Tone Development books help with sound. The De la Sonorite book is really good for once she's developed as a flute player...I don't remember who it's by though. Umm...Taffanel et Gaubert is really good for like scales and arpeggios and stuff. And the big yellow book full of concertos for flute is really good as far as learning literature goes. Also, try Flute Solos by French Composers. That has some really important flute solos in it. Tunes for Flute Technique books are an excellent sourse of etudes, also. If you need any more ideas on books to use, don't hesitate to ask. I hope this helps!!
By the way, most of these books can be found at Fluteworld.
