Great arrangement

I used this for cello instead of violin. The piano arrangment was perfect, exactly what I needed!

the original of this begins on the E string, but this popular version, meant to be played all on the G-string, is warmer and more approachable. I play this at lots of weddings, funerals, you name it, people even request it at dinners or parties. Just perfect!

Tears were shed at high-profile wedding
by on December 28th, 2007
We performed this at a recent high-profile wedding, which received glowing remarks from the bride and groom. Several tears were shed as the violinist played the entire piece on the G string. We're not sure if they were tears of joy or tears of pain. unlike the midi file, the last note ended with musical finesse rather than an uncomfortably long and nasal fermata. Overall, we highly recommend purchasing this transcription on VirtualSheetMusic.com

I am brasilian, I'm a beginner, but I think it is marvelous.

It worked as a violin solo
by (MEMBER) on June 27th, 2007
I played this for a wedding as a soloist, and it worked quite well. Overall response was very good, and I don't think the absence of piano or other accompaniment hurt at all.

Over all very nice.

Obviously a Midi player cannot account for a "musicians licence". Which is what this piece needs. Just some shortening of notes, vibrato, and phrasing. But over all I think that this is a nice transposition. One that I think Bach him self would approve of.
