This is a good collection of traditional carols, albeit simplified in places. The clarinet part is simple enough for my student who has begun reading above the break, nothing too high and in reasonable keys (mostly).
However, some attention to basic notation needs to be paid as the solo part is notated like a vocal line. Groups of quavers (and especially dotted quaver-semiquaver rhythms) need to be beamed together, not separated like in vocal music. There is inconsistency across the pieces; some are notated individually, some are beamed together. It is difficult to teach a beginner to read correctly when the music is not notated correctly.
The clarinet part simply doubles the piano part--this is good for hymns at church or if someone is singing or for easy solo. For a solo, it's better to have piano accompaniment with a different part that what the clarinet is playing.

I am recently back to playing after not playing for 20 years & your music was very easy to read & to play. Thanks so much. I also love how easy it was to receive![this review is about Christmas Carols, coll.1, included in this item]
