Bach's A minor concerto for violin is a lovely piece of music. It has all those typical 'Bach' momentums and helps you develop musicality as well as technical ability, which is what Bach was known for.
This publication is quite accurate, but the player (and teacher) should feel free to make small changes to the bowing, fingerings and other little things - of course - all in the sense of the time the piece was written in.
I have played it and have now started teaching it to younger generations. I am very fond of this particular piece of music and would recommend strongly, that every young-mature violinist includes it in his/her repertoire.
Great music, score without dynamicsby Vashek(MEMBER)on April 16th, 2010
JSB was a genius and I love this piece - 5 stars to JSB. The midi/mp3 files are fine, although you may find real performances of this concerto on YouTube by Hilary Hahn, Itzhak Perlman and other virtuosos more helpful. The score is very clear and legible, with numbered measures. My only slight gripe is with the score - it contains no dynamics, bowing or fingering suggestions. I would rate the difficulty between intermediate and advanced intermediate. I consider myself at the intermediate level, so this piece present just the right amount of challenge.
A Masterpiece From the Masterby Thomas Gardner(MEMBER)on March 19th, 2009
I am a 35 year old public school strings teacher and performing violinist. I have always loved the A minor concerto and am very pleased with the edition that has been made available on Virtual Sheet Music. It is a very clean edition with excellent editing in an easy to read format. I especially enjoy the downloadable mp3 files that come with the purchase of this concerto. The three different types of accompaniment mp3 that come with the minimal price paid for this work are invaluable both for the teacher and for the performer. As a teaching tool the "clean" accompaniment, the metronome accompaniment, and the slowed down accompaniment offer three different ways to provide a quality piano part for this piece in a controlled teaching environment. As a performer, having the ability to practice with an accompaniment literally at your fingertips aids invaluably in personal preparation. I highly recommend this work and this edition for all serious students and professionals alike.

This was the first time that I had purchased music from Virtual Sheet Music. The process was easy and trouble free, so I know it won't be the last time I do business with them.
Great pieceby anonymouson October 28th, 2007
This is a typical Bach piece but it is is quite hard with awkward 3rd postion changing but once I knew it off by heart it sounded great and everyone wanted to know where I got the piece from !
