| Balancing difficulty with beauty by Meg on January 26th, 2009 |
| I recently began to play piano again after taking a 10 year or so break and have been looking for pieces that are close enough to my skill level while also interesting. I remembered Satie from modern dance classes as a child and how the music stayed with you. It is hauntingly beautiful yet ultimately simple. I have enjoyed struggling through both this piece as well as Trois Gnossiennes. I feel like it has helped improve my ability to coordinate my hands and the repetition balances what I found to be somewhat difficult transitions. I have yet to get through all three sections, but look forward to the challenge. | Add your own review!
