BioGeorge Frideric Handel was a German-born English composer of the late Baroque era. He is renowned for his operas and oratorios, especially the Messiah oratorio with its Christmas favorite, the “Hallelujah Chorus.” Handel’s output includes 42 operas, 29 oratorios, over 120 cantatas, 16 organ concerti, as well as a large collection of arias, chamber music and ecumenical pieces.
