 | Trying to do Tartini justice by anonymous on July 18th, 2007 |
| I first heard this song on a CD I own of Baroque music. I admired it from afar for a long time, and when I finally started taking violin lessons (about a year ago), I immediately made it one of my goals. It is not easy by any means-especially the second movement!-but I'm chipping away steadily at it. Maybe in a few months it'll sound decent and poor Tartini can stop turning in his grave...
I really appreciate that this publication includes both the violin and piano parts seperately; my brother, who plays the piano, is working with me in the hopes that one day we can play it as it's meant to be heard-a beautiful and moving duet. | | | Thrilling Tartini by Jason (MEMBER) on September 25th, 2006 |
| I've chosen this piece for my graduation recital at the Conservatorium of Amsterdam, it's very hard to get to grips with, especially the tempi of the piece, however, once you've mastered this dragon you'll be able to tackle anything! | | | Now I know... by Delaney on September 20th, 2006 |
| Now I know why it's called the Devil's Trill! It's hard as heck! Haha. I'm learning it for a Junior/Senior Recital for school. | | | Awesome by Shina Kazuma on August 8th, 2006 |
| I have to say that this music is awesome! I play the violin and I plan to learn this, no matter how long it takes me to learn it! | | | Hair-raising story to a great piece by Robert W. (MEMBER) on June 21st, 2006 |
| This piece is difficult to learn but worth it. It is in my oppinion that it is the best thing that Tartini ever wrote. There is also a frightening story behind it. Here it is: One night Tartini had a dream that he made a pact with the devil. The devil could feel what Tartini's greatest wish was and proceeded to play the most wonderful music that he (Tartini) had ever heard. It was so beautiful and virtuosic that it took his breath away. When he woke up he scrambled to his desk to try to write down what he could remember. The piece was a hit with the audiences but he later admited that the song wasn't even half as good as what the devil played and that he would break his violin and give up music forever to hear it again. This is a great Halloween piece and has a real ambiance, especialy if you know the story. It is fun to play and listen to, so good luck! | Add your own review!
