You can't easily clean between the keys and i'd advise you don't so that you don't knock any springs out of place. When you take your flute to be serviced (mot) the repairer will clean those bits for you. You can but silver polishing cloths which help to keep your flute nice and shiny but you don't want to use them to often.

Depending on what exam bored your taking your exam with will mean that you do slightly diff things. In associated bored and guildhall exams they ask you to play your 2 prepared pieces then your study. They then normally ask you your scales then do sight reading and then do some aural tests. some exmainers give you the option of doing the aural tests first so that you get a break from playing. I think with guildhall (i can't quite renmber because i switched ABRSM for grd 6 onwards) that they also ask you a couple of things about the pieces you played for example what dose F stand for or hat does staccato mean ect ect. Most of my examiners have been really nice and they qite often talk to you before you start to get you settled.
