I'm back! I was shopping (sushi!) and I've apparently missed quite a lot of the discussion. I have nothing to add right now other than I'm still alive, but I figure that should be enough. I'll look through the pieces before my next post.

Oh, and welcome, Artsy!

Here's my list of the best songs to play:

To see how this works, we can play first:
*Coventry Carol
*Silent Night
*Ave Verum Corpus

or something simple like that. Songs from the Christmas collections that I like are:
*Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring
*Carol of the Bells
*What Child is This
*First Noel
*God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen
*Go Tell It on the Mountain
*Three Kings of Orient Are

O Canada! would be interesting. Canon is also very nice (w/o the harpsichord, though, because it is basically the cello part anyways). I'm not sure how difficult Canon would seem to the winds, though.

Also, to see how it works, we should have Flute and piccolo play both parts so we can decide which instrument would sound best as first or second within the ensemble.

Listen to some of them and tell us what you think. Maybe we can agree on a first song!

The songs from the Christmas collections I like are
Carol of the Bells,
What Child is This,
First Noel,
God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen,
Three Kings of Orient Are,
and I Saw Three Ships.

I think your ideas for first songs are good. Silent Night and Ave Verum Corpus are very pretty.

Also, I've played Canon before, I like a lot and... I like Can-Can as well.
