It was so great to get this copy of a flute solo I had lost many years ago.
The only quibbling comment I have is that I recalled that my old music was one half tone higher than this one.
I recall hearing William Kincaid play the piece in Washington, D.C. and then coming home to Baltimore on the same train as the one he took.
Much nostalgia--- thanks for the memories.

Page Break Doesn't Flow

The page break of this version is completely different from the original version, and doesn't flow as well. The mission of the song gets lost with that page break.
a winner for alto flute
by Leeann Rockon August 19th, 2009
this looks a little busy on the page but the accompanying MP3 made it clear that this was completely playable as it is a slow meditative piece. as a completely solo piece, it is great for showcasing alto flute.
I Like this!

I love the sound of this piece- its awesome but you need to work at it and to know your scales!
Syrinx Flute Solo

This is one of the most beautiful flute solos ever written, a must for the repertoire of any serious flautist.

Wow! This solo piece really is one of the best i've heard for any instrument. Love working at it!
This is a wonderfully wierd song! It takes a while to understand it, but when you do, it makes all the difference in the world. Try it. I'm sure that you will like it!

This song is easy as long as you are willing to work at it. it drags on if you use the written counts, but it really becomes interesting once you are able to treat it as a "free interpretation" piece. it really sounds like the myth it is based on.
