Rating: 5A Worthwhile Challenge  by Rachel Sterk on January 11th, 2008
I have been practicing this piece for the past year and a half. Nothing has been as great a challenge for me as a pianist for the past fourteen years; at the same time, no other piece has provoked such powerful emotions (1st movement), such beautiful pondering (2nd movement), and such playful elegance (the final movement). My favorite movement, by far, is the first. This movement provokes every possible feeling in the sphere of pathos (suffering)--i.e. depression, adrenaline, occasional reluctant acceptance, and an overall raging denial. The most powerful expression of human mortality ever set to music.
Rating: 4Quite a good piece  by anonymous on November 8th, 2007
it is sort of difficult at first, except the second movement. I would rate it five if it wasn't so sad. Well as most of Beethoven's works are. The third movement is sooo awesome!!! Why would they have created a rap version of it in the first place??:>
Rating: 5Awesome  by anonymous on August 3rd, 2007
Great Deal, even if you aren't a member. Awesome piece by Beethoven, one of my favorites!
Rating: 5Obituaries Theme  by Yolanda. on July 22nd, 2007
I remember the very somber parts of this composition being played as a backdrop to the obituary announcements on a radio station back home in Jamaica as a child. I have never forgot it. Back then it was tied to death in my mind, now I think it's just a beautiful piece of music.
Rating: 5Holy Smokes  by anonymous on July 8th, 2007
That song is better than almost anything I'v ever heard!!!
Rating: 5Wow!  by anonymous on June 20th, 2007
This sonata shows so much power. It's amazing. Love it.
Rating: 5Best of Beethoven  by Allianne on March 17th, 2007
Of all the classic pieces, I must say that is one of my favorites, both to listen to and to learn. Playing up to speed is a challlenge, but worth it!
Rating: 5Skillfull and Beautiful  by Anthony Moussa (MEMBER) on December 21st, 2006
This was the piece that when my teacher heard me play it she said "I think I'm done teaching you" It is so awesome and grand!
Rating: 5One of Beethoven's best  by Desmond Schipper on November 24th, 2006
The first movement opens with slow and powerful chords, then becomes much faster, redeveloping several ideas in more advanced ways. The second movement is the eye of the storm, a gentle, flowing river of passion. The third movement is a technical masterpiece. It has incredible scales. It took me a week to learn it!!!
Rating: 5The most amazing piece I've ever played!!  by Celine Field October 12th, 2006 (MEMBER) on October 12th, 2006
I've wanted to play this song since I was little. It's a very difficult piece at first but once you get the hang of it, you will never want to stop playing it.Beethoven is a masterful artist full of passion and love for the beauty of music. He is one of my top favorite composers.
