 | try again---use 1st violin from quartet version by Cheryl (MEMBER) on July 28th, 2009 |
| I actually already own several other versions of this, vln/pno, str qt, str trio.... it's a GREAT piece and always impressive. This VSM version for piano and violin could be better if the violin were allowed to wail on those 16th notes---perhaps it should be revised, using pretty much the violin part from the VSM string quartet part. Make it more of a duet (duel!) between the violin and piano. HTH, Cheryl | | | Closer to a piano solo than a violin piece by anonymous on August 18th, 2007 |
| This is a good piece for an enthusiastic wedding recessional. The violin part is easy, but the piano part is more difficult. The piano covers all parts in the main theme, while the violin is silent. During the secondary theme, the violin and piano share duet parts that were probably covered by two oboes in the original. I would prefer an arrangement where the violin was more prominent. | Add your own review!
