I would rate these as easy. But - they are absolutely beautiful!! (I rate them as easy, but I have played for awhile.) I love the classical baroque period and these pieces fit that to a "T". It would really help someone who has problems with tempo and even timing as this is a must for Canonic duos. I also really enjoy the Bach cello suites transcribed for viola - but the difficulty level is much harder. The depth of the viola really adds to these pieces. I would highly recommend them. Good-reading print. Have to cut, rearrange and copy sheets for pageturning performance use. A bit impractical, but a good way to easily obtain these fine pieces. [this review is about Canonic Sonatas, book I, included in this item]
