	Great except for key signatures by Pushpa Larsen on December 27th, 2011
I downloaded this for my daughter who is just learning violin. At first it looked like it would be great -- the melody lines are very simple and there is not a lot of extraneous notation that might intimidate or confuse a beginner. But when we tried her favorite carol -- "Carol of the Bells" -- we discovered that it was not written in a "beginner" key. Apparently D, G, A, and B flat major scales are the most common beginner scales -- she had only learned D and G major scales. Carol of the Bells was written in the F major scale, which required searching for a fingering chart online, printing it out, and ended up being more of a challenge than she was ready for. I hope to make use of this set of carols for next year, and I do think it is good -- I would have given it 5 stars had it not been for the non-beginner key signatures.

This is the perfect Christmas collection for beginners. The most beloved Christmas songs in a easy to read and play format. I especially liked having the music in both a color coded and normal format. It helps the student feel like they are stepping up their playing ability to graduate from the color coded to the normal format.
