 | Adequate, but Unimaginative by Matt on February 12th, 2008 |
| When doing a reduction, it is important to take into account the timbre of the instrument for which the music is being reduced (in this case, the piano, which can create many sounds unavailable to an orchestra), and to allow for the instrument's unique characteristics (in this case, the ability to play more than one note at a time). Unfortunately, this arrangement does not do that - it is, rather, a direct transcription of the orchestral parts into a piano part. The various instrumental parts of the orchestra are lumped together as block chords on the piano. Some opportunities to make beautiful PIANO music are missed.
Nevertheless, this is an adequate medium-difficulty arrangement of the waltz. Overall, well done! | | | Very nice by Y. Sapronov on July 4th, 2007 |
| There is no need to describe the music itself: everybody knows it. I only want to praise the way it was delivered. Printed version looks very good, so it's easy to use it. | Add your own review!
