| Good collection, but instrumentation needs work by anonymous on August 31st, 2009 |
| This is a very useful collection to have- plenty of music for processional, recessional, and musical offerings, with some nice variety (it's not all Baroque like some other collections I have found).
Be prepared, though, to do lots of cutting and pasting between parts if you want the balance of instruments to work out. The way the collection is written, the flute ALWAYS has the melody and is usually too low to be heard. The oboe part also tends to dwell in an uncomfortably loud and low register. My quintet changed some things around to give other instruments the melody, and the music worked great. | Add your own review!
