Well, now we can start to tell what is a MIDI file. A MIDI file, in simple words, it's a file containing notes that your computer understand and can plays. The origin of the acronym MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) find their origins in the far 1980 when this protocol was created with the intent to create a standard "language" for connect electronics musical instruments. Into the MIDI protocol there are any type of data that can describe a musical piece: the pitch, the length and the dynamics of every note and also the tempo, the text indications, etc.
Today the MIDI interface is not too used: with the born of the new computer audio cards "ALL IN ONE" we can recording real audio and play MIDI files directly from our computer, without any external instrument or equipment.
So, today and above all on the WEB, the MIDI acronym only is synonym of MIDI file.
Now we show you the right software to listen MIDI files. Whether you have a PC or Macintosh computer, you can find a free MIDI player to download now (if you have not already one), from the Live-update company. Once your MIDI player is installed on your computer, you are ready to find the right piece to play!
So, now I'll tell you where and how to download these MIDI files. From our site, you can find free classical MIDI files to download and play with your MIDI player (or equipment) instantly from EVERY page of our compositions scores available.
