Rating: 5Virtual Sheet Music provides a great service  by anonymous on January 18th, 2011
At very low cost, it was a pleasure to obtain this sheet music in such a quick and efficient manner. The printed pages are clear and well displayed, and a special consideration was the opportunity keep the download available for a day or so in case there was a glitch in receiving or printing it. Since my printer ran out of ink midway through my first printing effort, it was wonderful to be able to run it through again after changing the cartridge. Many thanks.
Rating: 4Nice place to go after inventions  by anonymous on April 26th, 2010
The G Minor Fugue has the virtue of being recognizable and attractive for students. This particular realization for piano is relatively playable, without the need for large hands as in the Busoni transcriptions and others. It is a fun piece. It could be more serviceable with some editing, however the clean sheet allows the teacher to provide this.
Rating: 4Bach's "Little" Fugue in G Minor  by Mike Serpa on September 13th, 2009
I have been playing Piano for many years and heard this piece being played on a piano in the movie "Elegy" and suddenly realized that I could get this piece for piano only. I think this transcription was done pretty well. You can tell that the organ pedal tones are missing, but that is to be expected. The basic intertwining of the melody and the accompanying counterpoint has been preserved. It would have been useful to include a suggested tempo. Contrary to a lot of thinking the tempo on this fugue is quite slow, which allows for a lot of drama near the end when the "Joy of Bach" starts to be felt. There is the possiblity of playing some partial bass passages with the right hand and vice versa. It depends on the indiviual skill of the pianist. There is only a single place in the entire piece that indicates one hand must be used at a specific point. This is a fun piece to learn but the fingering must be clearly established before you start.
Rating: 5Fingering  by John Ives on August 9th, 2009
Nicely presented. Clearly printed. As with any Bach, some suggested fingerings would be helpful. But perhaps generation of appropriate fingerings is just part of the exercise!
