Before seeing this, I knew only the Myra Hess arrangement. I was looking for something to give a student that he could play at church without weeks of preparation. I was afraid that a simple version wouldn't be musically satisfying but this arrangement conveys the essential beauty without technical complications.
Last Minute Music for Wedding
by W.E.N. Choral Directoron June 7th, 2013
At the eleventh hour we needed Bach's Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring for my wife to play with a solo violinist. Searching the internet we found VSM with a score of the music we could review. It was exactly what we needed and within ten minutes it was on our piano ready to go. Service, quality and price get an A+.
I am looking for easy sheet music which still sounds professional, even though it is altered for beginners. This one seems to be the original version. I am managing to play Bach's Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring, but find it very difficult. It'll take me at least a month (practicing every day for half to one hour) before I have mastered it to some degree (pleasant to the ear).
Great sheet music

The Virtual Sheet Music website easy to navigate. I found the music I was looking for quickly, paid for the product and downloaded - all in just a few minutes! It was easy.
The piece that I purchased was exactly what I was looking for - Thanks!
Beautiful Bach as always

Simple and Very Effective

An ideal arrangement for piano or single desk organ, captures the mood and movement of the various parts of the piece perfectly, without unneccessary complication, and without ommiting anything important.
complexity is in the artistic expression

The base line might have included octaves which would require a treble clef that would balance it. Overall, easy to learn, perhaps, because it is so often heard. This is a good peice to mess with rubato-wise....sorry Bach.

I'm a pianist of many years. Good arrangement-- couldn't be easier to access, buy, and start practicing. Saved me trips to the music store-- Hurray for the internet!

This is one of the best pieces I have ever played.
No Hymn Tune
by Redmileson August 24th, 2007
This arrangement was made under the misconception that the most important part of this piece is the repetitive triplet part. There is no hymn tune except in 2 bar segments - this is not a transcription of the original, it is a hack job by someone unfamiliar with the tune.
Excellent midi/pdf combination

Excellent service and a good clear arrangement - having midi file very useful for learning the song using a keyboard with midi interface. I am just starting to learn the keyboard
