Rating: 5 Beautiful arrangement, tough to play by May Shamp * VSM MEMBER * on September 3, 2015 @8:26 am PST
I use pieces of this to teach my son complicated fingering. This set is very, very hard, but it sounds like a million bucks! Mr. Ferrari has done an incredible job creating this arrangement. I cut the songs into pieces and my son does a piece at a time. A piece consists of 3 or 4 lines. It takes him 3 months to go through these three lines, or a 4 page medium level song! They sound incredibly cool. Particularly Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. If you got to a piano performance and say that you are playing Twinkle, people will probably grin. Then you start blasting this thing and knock their socks off! It is a very cool music to play. In general, I have enjoyed many of Mr. Ferrari's compositions. he always makes it sound totally impressive.

Rating: 3 Nice enough by Peter on October 19, 2014 @8:05 pm PST
The arrangements are nice enough. I particularly enjoyed Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring and What Child is This.

However, some of the arrangements have achieved the complexity a bit cheaply. In particular, in some pieces the right hand is just playing the chord underneath the melody without fleshing out a separate harmony. For an example of what I mean, compare Jingle Bells with Oh Come All Ye Faithful. Sometimes the complexity even (in my opinion) interferes with the tone of the piece itself, such as in Silent Night's middle section where the left hand goes on arpeggio steroids.

This doesn't happen in all pieces, and many are interesting, but it happened enough for me to notice it while going through the pieces.

In accordance with the guidelines, I've been playing piano for around 18 or 19 years now; have a number of exams under my belt, so fairly proficient.

Despite this, overall, the collection is nice enough to warrant the purchase.
Rating: 4 Christmas Variations by Gloria on December 23, 2011 @6:11 pm PST
Some nice variations of several Christmas songs, both Christian and popular. Definitely on the high end of advanced level of difficulty on many of the pieces.
Rating: 4 super by Hélène Charles on November 15, 2010 @6:01 am PST
I've only tried "Carol of the bell" and I love the version...the difficulty is due to get notes with the right hand.

J'aime cette version...ce qui rend difficile l'exécution des morceaux, ou plutôt du morceau (je n'ai essayé que "Carol of the bell", c'est d'attraper toutes les notes de la main droite...
Rating: 5 Over ambitious novice did not look enough! by Danny on January 6, 2010 @8:47 am PST
When I looked a the first piece I knew I was in trouble. It is far beyound my present ability.
I did not catch the word "advanced". My error so I will live with it. From what I see it lives up to it's name.
Rating: 5 Very nice! by Roberta on October 26, 2009 @11:16 pm PST
These are very nice arrangements. Probably the best christmas music I've ever heard. Some of them are more difficult than others (Twinckle Twinckle little star is challenging). But overall, the music sounds great. I highly recommend it.
Rating: 4 Good songs, easy to learn by Pam on December 28, 2008 @6:53 am PST
The arrangements were good and the level of difficulty was fairly easy for anyone who has had a few years of piano lessons.
Rating: 5 brilliant by Anna on December 3, 2008 @11:26 am PST
i found these pieces really easy to follow and easy to play! even though i have lots of music experience i think begginers would catch on quite quick to these tunes.

Rating: 5 Great purchase! by Cindy Smith on September 10, 2008 @6:50 am PST
I truly enjoy this music. I rated it medium/high rather than high because I could play it without too much difficulty. I am an accomplished pianist but I don't have time to practice all that much, so I get a little rusty. This music is easy enough to play but it sounds much harder than it is. They are beautiful arrangements. I am enjoying practicing them for use this Christmas. This is a great item for a great price!
Rating: 5 Arrangements for a Joyful Christmas by Matt * VSM MEMBER * on November 23, 2007 @7:18 am PST
These arrangements are very rich in sound, and will greatly impress your audience. I reccommend them to both amateur and advanced pianists as a very neat Christmas repertoire. These variations are not too hard to play, and could be easily learned in a couple weeks by anyone who can read music (except for the last two variations in 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star').
They are very easy to sing along with. Furthermore, the selection of Christmas carols is very pleasant, ranging from a joyful 'Jingle Bells' to a very romantic 'What Child is This'.
