Rating: 5 Great Processional March! by Dixie Cramer on June 4, 2017 @6:50 pm PST
Didn't need the Hornpipe, but the Trumpet Voluntary was perfect for a processional for a special graduation event.
Rating: 5 Trumpet within piano reach! by Joost Vanbrussel, Belgium * VSM MEMBER * on February 9, 2013 @10:52 am PST
Purcell's Trumpet Voluntary on Jeremiah Clark's famous "The Prince of Denmark March" in its solo piano or organ reduction has a rich sound and warm baroque harmony on both instruments. The organ player may or may not double the bassline in the pedal, and a trumpet player (or oboe, or violin...) may even join the 'band' by playing the upper voice! Wedding ceremonies will benefit from it. The additional shorter Hornpipe is a nice piano piece with chromatic surprises in the typical Purcell style.

There are some minor glitches in this arrangement of Trumpet Voluntary, but I was able to work around that, getting it ready for a wedding ceremony during which I have been requested to perform it. More current research has shown that this piece is by Jeremiah Clarke, not Henry Purcell and that it is titled "The Prince of Denmark March."
Rating: 5 Good, playable music by Julie * VSM MEMBER * on October 27, 2007 @2:28 pm PST
This transcription sounds full and complete, yet was not difficult. A fair amount of my wedding music was pretty much lost in the flood this past summer. I needed songs I could download for immediate use. This was not the arrangement I had, but worked well! I was pleased to find this site and this music, in particular. Thanks and keep the titles coming!
Rating: 4 Good for weddings. by Pam on May 30, 2007 @3:10 am PST
This is a very chordal version, so sounds quite full & rich on the piano, but an organist may find it harder to solo out the tune on a reed. For single manual instruments this arrangement works well & the Hornpipe is a very useful voluntary that I hadn't come across before. The printing is exceptionally clear & easy to read.
