How to INSTANTLY Improve Your Piano Technique

Welcome to LivingPianos.com, I'm Robert Estrin. Today I'm going to give you a tip to instantly improve your piano playing. Now you might have clicked on this just to scoff at the whole idea, but what I'm going to tell you is real. And it works for me. It works for countless people I have worked with and this little tip is going to help you enormously if you've never done it before. And if you have done it before, it's a refresher and a reminder of how essential this technique of practice is that you'll get instant results.

This is made for a piece you already can play, but you just want to play it better.

You want to improve it and get it at a higher level and you wonder what can you do to get some results right away.

Believe it or not, take out that score and slow way down.

Take your foot off the pedal and go through playing everything securely, exaggerating all the details of the score. And that refresher, you will not believe what it will accomplish in one sitting.

Now naturally, is there more than you can do? Of course.

You could, for example, go through all the metronome speeds between that slow speed and up to tempo. But surprisingly, just going through the score slowly, reading the music without the pedals, you can hear everything, the lineating, the accents, the dynamics, the phrasing. Clearly, you will learn so much and it will reinforce the music that you're already playing in a way that will get instant results. I promise you and I want you to all try it if you doubt this.

Try it with a piece you play that maybe it's not quite the level you want. Maybe it was at one point and is a refresher.

You try this out and even without all the other steps, which of course will be even more beneficial, just this one step will make a noticeable improvement in your piano playing. Leave it in the comments here.
