Video TranscriptionWelcome to LivingPianos.com, I'm Robert Estrin, introducing to you the Ultimate Piano Light. Man, years and years looking for the Ultimate Piano Lamp and I can't believe I found it or I should say it found me. It's an interesting story. You know, it was just several months ago I was approached by someone randomly who said they had this piano lamp and they wanted me to check it out. And I looked at it and it was an upright piano lamp and I said, you know, most of the people who get pianos from us have grand pianos so I'm really not interested if you ever have a grand piano lamp you know you can contact me again. Never expect me to hear from them again. And you know I have people all the time asking me what's a good piano lamp and you know in this show I've got all kinds of exotic lighting because to make the videos look good so it's not a huge issue but even here the music is not as bright as I'd like. The problem with piano lamps is that they usually don't light the keys because you can get these clip -on lamps but they don't come out far enough so the keys are in shadows. So this lamp came, he actually came through and sent me two lamps and I have an affiliate link, I want to make no bones about it. I told him that unless I like these lamps, these lights, I'm not even going to review them because I didn't want to say anything bad about it. I was like oh here are these piano lights that aren't good, what use is that video? But I love these things and I'm using them and I want to show you what's so great about them and what to look for in a piano light and if you can find any as good as this you're really lucky but if not go to the description and hit the link and you can check these out for yourself on Amazon and they're really reasonable costs, I can't even believe it. So the first thing, let's just start off how this goes on the piano, it's just this rubber on either sides of this and you just twist it on and it stays securely and then this is a goose neck so you can put the light wherever you want it and most importantly it goes far enough so that when you turn it on, boom, the keys, you can see the keys are lit. No shadows on the keys where so many lamps are like this, they are back here and you've got the music that's lit up but you've got the shadow of the keys, I hate that. This one is long enough that you can light the keys and light the music. Not only that but you also have the brightness which is nice to have, maybe you don't want a full brightness and you also have color temperature so if you want for example a warmer color temperature or I don't know if you can tell, it's changing the color temperature from warm to cool. I kind of like the pure white personally and the brightest setting but you might like something different, you know, late at night you might not want to have that extreme bright white sunlight color temperature. The other thing that I was worried about because it would have been a pet peeve because I hate having to adjust things, you turn this thing off and it remembers your last setting, turn it on and it's exactly where you had it last and there is another upright version, this is what that looks like and once again you have a nice long goose neck, you can put it wherever you want it and you can even put the bass backwards so you can get that goose neck as far as you need it. These piano lamps are everything that I've been looking for and if you're looking for a great piano lamp, I love mine and you can check them out in the links in the description and let me know what you think and if you have any other piano lamps, piano lights that you like, leave them in the notes here at livingpianos .com and YouTube for others, you know, this might not be the only great piano light, it's the best one I've found and anything that you want to share, be my guest. Thanks for joining me, again I'm Robert Estrin here at LivingPianos.com, your online piano resource. Thank you so very much, Robert, for not only discussing this important topic, but for suggesting a great piano lamp. I just received mine yesterday, and it's fantastic! Having had several other lamps, I can say that this one is brighter, and the longer goose-neck enables me to light up both the keyboard and the musical score. For my Casio portable keyboard, though, I have to have a floor lamp. I use a Koncept Z-Bar Floorlamp, which I love.
