Video TranscriptionI grew up in Nashville in the projects. We didn't have a lot of money so my grandfather worked as a porter at the Maxwell House Hotel and my grandmother also worked as a housecleaner to add to the money my grandfather made. She only cleaned one ladies house though and sometimes she would take me with her, but she would never allow me to help her. This ladies home was in Belle Meade, the wealthy part of Nashville and her home was beautiful of course with a huge back yard. But what really got me was the big tree in that huge back yard. I would sit under the tree and look through the leaves at the clouds in the sky and just dream away. I don't know that I dreamed about anything in detail but I dreamed. I guess one needs to have a place they can go to when they are young, where they can dream! Automatic video-to-text transcription by DaDaScribe.com |
