Thanks to Maestro Ferrari and Maestro Caldera for the very very good fingerings: i saved a lot of time!
Rating: 5 Hard by on October 22, 2009 @7:17 pm PST
This is definitely one of the hardest pieces on the violin to play with a clean tone and good pitch. There is so much jumping around and shifts and difficult bowing patterns, this concerto surpasses Lalo and Bruch concerto in difficulty by far.
Rating: 5 Mastering Piece by on June 3, 2009 @3:25 pm PST
One of the hardest pieces to master what with all the octaves and difficult finger passages throughout the 3rd mvt. But definitely one of the top five beautiful concertos ever written and even more beautiful if played with passion and enthusiasm. Just because you play a piece fast and loud doesn't make it impressive. This Mendelssohn concerto proves that correct.
